E2 Services identified that their client qualified for relief against Climate Change Levy. As a manufacturer of pharmaceutical products through plastic injection moulding processes, the legislative framework in place around Climate Change Levy allowed E2 Services to set up a Climate Change Agreement.
An initial supporting survey was conducted to confirm, and submissions were made to the sector association and the Environment Agency to get the agreement in place. E2 Services continue to handle the administration of the CCA, including reporting on energy performance, reviews and maintenance of the evidence pack, and upkeep of the CCL discount, which entitled the client to ongoing relief against CCL equating to approximately £168,300 p.a.
E2 Services also worked to a tight deadline to get the CCA finalised by the end of January 2014, allowing the client to not register for CRC for phase 2, which is currently saving the company approximately £255,000 p.a.
The agreement is based on participants striving to meet energy efficiency targets, with buy-out fees in place for those participants who do not meet set performance targets. In order to demonstrate a commitment to reducing energy consumption, E2 Services were engaged to help the client implement a number of energy savings projects at site. The majority of these projects are now complete with significant energy consumption savings verified.
“E2 Services's relationship with the Nationwide Pharmaceutical client began in 2013. We act as a full energy management partner to our client, and after an initial period of surveying and planning in early 2014, E2 Services embarked on a number of projects; implementing energy reduction solutions and supporting with energy and carbon regulatory compliance.”
