Our work for ThyssenKrupp involved the installation of energy efficient lead compressors and the optimisation of the existing compressor plant.
ThyssenKrupp required this project because their planned installation of a new production line needed to generate compressed air at 7.0 bar, however the existing reciprocating compressed air system could only reach 6.7 bar.
Working to a strict timeline, E2 Services designed & specified a HPC compressor system that made best use of the site’s existing screw compressors, together with the addition of four new compressors. The ring main was re-designed to provide improved air flow and a central management system was added in order to provide accurate control of all parameters.
Additional savings were achieved on the project through making use of waste heat from the compressor house, and making use of central control.
"Being responsible for project managing the whole new production line, I just didn’t have time to look at compressed air myself. E2 Services had already proved competent on other large energy saving projects at Cannock & took on this responsibility for me. The actual savings achieved went beyond the project estimations, whilst giving me the reliable compressed air I needed at the new pressure"
