E2 Services Win Best Energy Solution at TELCA 2018
Monday 2nd July 2018
After several months of painstaking and meticulous work, followed by two weeks of nervous anticipation from hearing we had been shortlisted for an award, on 28th June E2 proudly claimed the award for Best Energy Solution at this year’s The Energy Live Consultancy Awards (TELCA).
Held at London’s Honourable Artillery Company, TELCA 2018 was attended by over 450 guests representing the most respected energy consultancies in the country. E2 had been shortlisted for our unique innovation around Demand Side Response (DSR), which sees us using the site Building Management System to mitigate the cost of non-commodity charges on electricity invoices. By targeting expensive times of day for drastic demand reduction, DSR has delivered significant energy savings at sites that have already engaged heavily with energy management in previous years.
E2 attended with two of our friends and partners from Northwood Investors, the commercial landlord whose firm and ongoing commitment to cost and carbon reduction has made our years of innovation possible. The summer glow and a carnival provided specifically for the event made for a great night’s entertainment for E2 and our honoured guests, but the sweetest moment was getting our hands on the trophy.
Mike Stafford, Energy Services Director, said “We’re delighted to be picking up the award for Best Energy Solution for our Demand Side Response work with Northwood Investors. With DSR, a huge amount of expertise comes together across a range of professional specialisms to deliver truly impressive energy savings, even at sites where demand reduction has already been prioritised for years. This is work that the whole team at E2 can be immensely proud of, and I’m sure that the recognition we’re getting for it here will further enhance our reputation for delivering powerful cost and carbon reductions.”
The 2018 award will take pride of place in E2’s office, but this is by no means the end of the story. For us, the previous tranche of energy savings simply represents a new bar for ourselves. Like a limbo pole moving ever lower, the savings we’ve delivered in 2018 give us a new target to beat, and a new brainstorm to conduct to be ready for 2019.
